Yami did notice the tears though, and as blunt as he was, he wisely remained silent. He sat still and quietly like a good model should. He wanted to ask Yuki so much more, but the last thing he wanted was make him cry. But he was so curious and interested in Yuki that he simply couldn't help himself. "So... have you had any relationships after him?" he asked carefully.

Yuki took a shuddering breath and reached up to wipe the tears that finally had started to trickle down his face. It was no good of him to start crying like that but just thinking of ChangMin had him come undone, his emotions coming up to the surface all at once. He sighed. To think that that man could still affect him like this...
Running a hand through his hair, Yuki sat up straight on the stool, wanting to act as if nothing had happened. He just hoped that Yami wouldn't think badly of him for starting to cry like that. He lifted his paintbrush and glanced at the other man before getting back to work. It was about time to start adding the details anyway...
"Try to remain as still as possible..." He said quietly only to cease his movements once again when he heard Yami's question. "No... I haven't..."

"How long has it been then?" Yami's curiousity made him ask. "You still seem to have... problems with it..."

Yuki took another deep breath, trying to keep his emotions under control. Yami's question immediately brought him back to that day, that fight.. and then to the conversation he had with JoungYou three weeks later.
"I... it was... seven months ago... I think. I have been having some difficulty to keep track of time so I am not entirely sure." It probably would seem like a long time to Yami, but to Yuki it was never quite enough. How long does it take to get over things like that? Losing the person you love...

Yami kept watching Yuki. This man needed some serious healing, he thought. "It's not good if you can't even keep track of the time," he said. "But you don't need all that right now. Right now you're here, in this room, with me, and painting. That's all you need to know."

No, it wasn't good at all. The first few months Yuki hadn't even been able to tell one day from the next. They were all the same anyway, spent in bed without ChangMin. And then when he finally started working again he was just going through the motions. He never did anything except eat work and sleep.
"You're right..." He said softly and shot Yami a small, but grateful smile. Taking a deep breath, he then turned his attention back to the painting. It was finally getting somewhere. It was still rough, yes, but you could at least guess who it was.

Yami watched Yuki's concentrated face and he smiled. He looked so serene like this. With his hair in his face. All his movements so professional. "When can I see it?" he said with his broad smile.

Yuki looked up in surprise at the unexpected question. He had gotten so into the painting, intent on forgetting their earlier conversation, that he had no idea of how much time had passed. He took a good look at the canvas and then at Yami, chewing absently on his lower lip. "Well... I suppose you could see it now, but it is no where near done..." He frowned slightly and lowered his paintbrush. "It hardly does you justice..."

"I'm sure it does Yuki," Yami laughed. He left his modelling spot and walked over to the artist to see the first portrait ever painted of him. He felt his stomach turn when he saw his own face in the most vibrant colours he had ever seen. "Whow... Yuki..." he whispered. "This is... really good."

Yuki fidgeted nervously on his stool as Yami approached the painting. "It's not done yet, so the shadowing isn't really perfect and the lips are a bit... well, wrong." He explained and then sat there, chewing on his bottom lip. To any other person, the painting probably looked wonderful but Yuki was a perfectionist and he always managed to find flaws in his own work. It was never quite good enough.
Hesitantly, he looked up at Yami a bit startled at the praise. "Do you really like it?"

"Are you kidding?" Yami asked with sparkles in his eyes. "I love it! You should be asking money for this!" He looked at the portrait again. "It really looks like me."

Yuki blushed deeply. He had had people praise his work before but it meant a lot more to hear it from Yami. It was his portrait, after all, and it was most important that he like it. "Well, I'm glad..." He said softly and pulled his long hair over his shoulder, absently running his hands through it. "I have sold some pieces, but mostly I just paint for myself." He explained then, looking up at the other man through thick lashes. "And this one is a present for you... I would finish it now, but it's getting late and I need to lock up the classroom. If you want we can continue another day?"

"Yes!" Yami smiled. "How about tomorrow? I don't have anything to do tomorrow. How about you? We could start early! I could bring you some coffee then! What do you like? No, don't say anything. Latte right?" He stopped rambling and looked at Yuki to give him some time to respond.
